Professional Negligence
Let down by a professional? If you have suffered a loss as a result of unsuitable advice from a solicitor, financial advisory, accountant, architect or other professional we may be able to help.
Professional Cases
When you consult a professional, you expect professional service and sound advice. Unfortunately, there are times when professional advisers fall short of the standards required. As a result, you may need to be compensated for losses.
Our team can consider professional negligence claims against:
-
Solicitors
-
Barristers
-
Accountants
-
Financial Advisers
-
Architects
-
Builders
-
Surveyors
-
And other professionals.
These are all services you rely on at important or stressful times in your life and the costs to you or your business can be significant when things go wrong.
What should I do?
Professional negligence can be confusingly complex and when deficient advice is given to the victim, they may not realise that the advice has been defective for a long period of time. The law currently defines a six-year time limit for bringing professional negligence claims. That time limit starts the minute the advice is given but it’s usually years before the victim realises they’ve been given bad advice.
Fortunately, in order to give professional negligence victims further protection, the law allows an additional three year period from when the victim finds out they have been given defective advice.
Working out the correct dates on these claims is critical (and often difficult) but we’re here to help, making what can be a distressing and confusing process easy for you.
If you have been let down by a professional adviser, get in touch with our experienced team as soon as possible. They will be able to advise you on the strength of your claim and handle all aspects of your complaint and any claim for compensation.
How much will it cost?
Our specialist team may be able to represent you on a No Win No Fee basis and all initial work will be carried out free of charge.
How much could I get back?
The aim of compensation is to put you back in to the position you would have been in had the professional not breached his contract and/or duty.
